Three Mugs Brewing Company is one of the region’s newest breweries and taprooms. Founded in August 2013, Three Mugs quickly grew from a small tap house serving beers and ciders from around the region to a taproom with 20 rotating taps that include several of Three Mugs’ own brews.
Vertigo Brewing has been making acclaimed beer in Hillsboro for several years. Described by MIX Magazine as a “nano-brewery,” Vertigo uses a seven-barrel system—designed by Portland company, Ager Tank Equipment—that produces a unique blend of beer, and allows Vertigo to produce its house beers more readily, as well as create “one-off” specialty brews. The tap room features up to seven beers on tap, including Razz Wheat, Harvest Hefe, Arctic Blast Vanilla Porter, Smokestack Red, Friar Mike’s IPA and more.
Ambacht Brewing’s unique Belgian-inspired ales are each made with local, organically grown ingredients, and mashed at a low temperature, which gives the beer a “refreshing” dryness and “clean, toasty” flavor. Tastings at its new tasting room may include Ambacht’s Pie Cherry Dark Farmhouse Ale (also comes in Pale), Matzobraü, Golden Rose Farmhouse Ale, and more.
Cornelius Pass Roadhouse and Imbrie Hall showcases McMenamins’ own handcrafted brews, including several that are brewed on-site. After a meal at Imbrie Hall, take a peek at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse Brewery, where many of McMenamins’ beloved beers are made, or the recently opened Cornelius Pass Roadhouse Distillery, where McMenamins crafts its spirits in a century-old, 160-gallon Alambic Charentais pot still.
