This spring, we put the power to the people with the Tualatin Valley People’s Choice Awards. With so many great attractions in the area, the competition was stiff! If you’re looking to extend your Portland trip, then plan a weekend in the Tualatin Valley—in just two days, you can visit and experience each of the People’s Choice Award winners.
People’s Choice Award Itinerary:
Friday night, roll into town for some sudsy delights. After checking in at the McMenamins Grand Lodge, you are mere steps away from the People’s Choice Winner for Favorite Craft Brewery. McMenamins Brewing brews up top-notch IPA that pairs perfectly with another Oregon favorite: McMenamins’ tater tots. The Grand Lodge’s bars often welcome live music on weekend evenings.
After a leisurely morning in Forest Grove, take a scenic drive to the People’s Choice Winner for Favorite Winery: Ardiri Vineyards. The wine? Divine! The view? Just as good. Sip a glass of the winery’s Willamette Valley Pinot Noir while sitting around a cozy fire table (yes, it’s as wonderful as it sounds) and staring at Mt. Hood in the distance.
After wine time, take a short drive to lunch at the People’s Choice for Favorite Restaurant. The winner, the ABV Public House, pairs its 34 taps and expansive bottle shop with tasty burgers, hearty salads and hold-with-two-hands sandwiches.
After a laid-back day, prepare for a more theatrical evening with People’s Choice Winner for Favorite Attraction, the Broadway Rose Theatre Company. Located close to downtown Tigard, find a nice array of preshow foods and libations. This summer, the Broadway Rose presents two crowd favorites: The Addams Family and Gypsy.
