Lace up your running shoes, because 2020 kicks off with a host of exceptional running events throughout Tualatin Valley.

It’s no secret that Oregon is a runner’s paradise, with Nike World Headquarters right here in Tualatin Valley and the city of Eugene (aka “Track Town U.S.A.”) a mere 90-minute drive away. Plus, Oregon is the proud host destination of Oregon 21, the International Association of Althetic Federations (IAAF) World Athletics Championships premier track and field event in August 2021.

Whether you are an active participant or want to cheer on marathon runners, check out these running events happening in 2020.

Portland Running Co. Winter 5K Race Series | February 15, 2020
Stay fit and fast over the winter months.The Portland Running Co. Winter 5k Race Series sets the course throughout Beaverton and along the Fanno Creek Trail in Greenway Park. This race is made for both runners and walkers alike and all abilities are welcome.

Chocolatathon | February 15, 2020
The annual 5K and 10K Chocolatathon (chah’-co-lah’-da-thon) returns to Tualatin Valley in 2020. After the race, enjoy the hot chocolate bar, complete with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, crushed nuts, marshmallows, peppermints, and more toppings than you can count.

My Muddy Valentine | February 15, 2020
The 6th annual Muddy Valentine 5k and 10k run and obstacle course will leave you covered in mud from head to toe. After tackling more than 20 obstacles across the Lee Farms property in Tualatin, finish music, food, games, drinks and bonfires.

Hagg Lake Mud Run – Ultra 50K and 25K | February 15-16, 2020
It’s time to get muddy! One of the most popular ultras in the Northwest, the Hagg Lake Mud Run was featured in Runner’s World Trail Edition as one of the top trail races in Oregon. The 25K consists of a short out-and-back run along a gravel road, and makes one loop around the beautiful Henry Hagg Lake. The 50K follows a similiar course, except the out-and-back is slightly longer and you make two loops.
