Lace up your running shoes, because 2020 kicks off with a host of exceptional running events throughout Tualatin Valley.
It’s no secret that Oregon is a runner’s paradise, with Nike World Headquarters right here in Tualatin Valley and the city of Eugene (aka “Track Town U.S.A.”) a mere 90-minute drive away. Plus, Oregon is the proud host destination of Oregon 21, the International Association of Althetic Federations (IAAF) World Athletics Championships premier track and field event in August 2021.

Dirty Leprechaun 5K and 10K mud run | March 14, 2020
Get your St. Paddy’s day started with some rompin’ good fun around Lee Farms. This event features a 5k or 10k walk/run obstacle course challenge and a 1.1-mile obstacle challenge for the kiddos. After some mud, guts and glory, stick around and have a beer or two.
Vernonia Marathon and Half Marathon | April 5, 2020
Imagine running a beautiful, tree-lined course along the 21-mile Banks-Vernonia State Trail. Both the marathon and half-marathon feature a gentle 7-mile, 400-foot downhill into Banks. This Boston Marathon qualifier is run on a point-to-point course, with 23 miles closed to vehicular traffic.
Tillamook Burn Trail Run | April 25-26, 2020
With beautiful, challenging courses, great support, and a festive, social finish line celebration, ‘The Burn’ is a lively springtime trail running event. Prepare for rumbling waterfalls, brisk stream crossings and a million shades of green as brilliant spring foliage, fiddleheads, and blossoms line every inch of this classic Pacific NW rainforest course.
Hagg Lake Road Runs | May 2, 2020
Walk or run, come enjoy a scenic path around Hagg Lake along with other runners, walkers and joggers! The run/walk offers 5k, 10k and 10.5m options.
Hippie Chick Quarter and Half Marathon | May 9, 2020
The Hippie Chick Quarter & Half Marathon returns Mother’s Day weekend. This run is an all-women’s event that is designed to celebrate women. The course is filled with “flat, tree-lined streets with amazing scenic views,” and along plenty of rolling country roads just outside Hillsboro in the middle miles of the race. After the race, there’s a free pancake breakfast at the finish line with live music.
10th Annual Banks Linear Trail Brave Run | May 16, 2020
This is the 10th annual fundraising run that benefits Banks Elementary School Technology Fund. This is a family friendly run that includes a free kids dash, a costume contest, and fun for both individuals and families.
Helvetia Half Marathon, 5K and 10K | June 13, 2020
Voted the “Best Half Marathon in the Northwest,” the Helvetia Half Marathon, 5K, and 10K Run/Walk allows participants to “Leave the city behind.” Enjoy this scenic course with breathtaking views of the gorgeous countryside in rural Tualatin Valley.
Hagg Lake Triathalon and Off Road Endurance Sports Festival | July 18-19, 2020
The 38th Annual Hagg Lake Triathlon & Off-road Endurance Sports Festival returns to Tualatin Valley in July. This race is one of the oldest and most gorgeous Triathlon courses in the nation. The 2020 race now offers an off-road triathlon, half marathon trail run and a 5K Trail Run. Also new in 2020: Hagg Lake has provided athletes this one-time opportunity to camp on-site adjacent to the transition area on Friday and Saturday nights. Athletes can camp, hang out and share race stories at night.
