Coffee in Oregon's Tualatin Valley

5 Things to do Near Tanasbourne

The Tanasbourne neighborhood sits between Beaverton and Hillsboro, just south of Hwy 26 and is home of one of Tualatin Valley’s premier shopping destinations, the Streets of Tanasbourne. If you’re staying nearby and looking for things to do without straying too far, here are the top 5 things to do in the area.

1. Shop sales tax free

The Streets of Tanasbourne is an open air shopping center with a wide range of stores and eateries, including one of the few Macy’s stores left in Oregon. Get supplies for an outdoor adventure at REI and shop the latest trends at H&M, American Eagle, Gap and more. A short drive away, you’ll also find a Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls, Ross, DSW, Old Navy, Barnes & Noble and Ulta Beauty.

2. Eat Local favorites

The Streets of Tanasbourne is also home to some of our top restaurants. Killer Burger and Thirsty Lion are both popular chains that started in Portland and continue to be local favorites. Nearby is the highly regarded Chenni Masala, which the Oregonian newspaper once called the best Indian restaurant the Portland area. A short drive away is Wassabi, a Pan-Asian restaurant with a large sushi menu as well as other cuisine, making it a great crowd pleaser.

3. Drink locally roasted coffee

Insomnia Coffee is a Tualatin Valley gem that started in downtown Hillsboro and still growing in the area. They artfully brew their own Dapper & Wise beans. Insomnia is well-loved for its real caramel lattes, black and white mochas, Aztec hot chocolate and chai as well as homemade pastries.

4. Walk or bike at Rock Creek Trail

If browsing REI has you inspired to get outside, go explore the nature that surrounds this bustling area. Several nearby parks offer wide open spaces for a stroll. The Rock Creek Trail is a 3.5-mile trail named after a tributary of the Tualatin River. It passes through forests, wetlands, meadows and parks (including playgrounds), making it a great place to take a walk or bike ride and see wildlife. Amberglen Park is also a great greenspace to walk and see nature.

5. Try Disc Golf

Orchard Disc Golf Course is not far from the Tanasbourne area and can be accessed along the Rock Creek Trail. It’s a relatively short nine-hole course that has a variety of challenges including navigating a cherry orchard. Golf and more >>>
