Things to Do in Cornelius, Oregon

Harlemann Park is a community park located at the intersection of South 10th and Heather Streets in Cornelius. The park offers recreational opportunities including a picnic shelter, two ball fields, four horseshoe pits, seven basketball hoops and a lighted tennis court.

Now run by the 4th generation, Unger Farms grows berries, which are sold at grocery stores and farmers markets around the region. During berry season, Unger Farms operates a farm stand, Wednesday through Friday. It opens at 8 a.m. and remains open until sold out for the day.

Crawford’s Nursery and Produce offers a wonderful selection of u-pick produce during the summer and through the fall harvest season. Located in Cornelius, Crawford’s fantastic farm stand offers fresh produce, friendly service, and low prices. Blueberries are their specialty. Like most u-pick locations come prepared as Crawford’s is cash only.

Every Friday in Cornelius is a time to celebrate with the Adelante Farmers Market, located in the Sally Dinsdale Plaza at the Cornelius Library. The market features delicious locally-grown produce, handmade crafts, and handcrafted food.

The market takes place on Friday, from 4-8 p.m., June – September.

Tarrybrooke Park is a public park with a basketball court.

Dogwood Park is a public park in Cornelius. The park has a basketball court, BMX terrain, an open lawn and play area with playground equipment. The park also has walking paths, a drinking fountain, as well as picnic tables, park benches, and restrooms. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk.

The town of Cornelius was built amid vibrant orchard lands during the railroad boom in the 1870s. Now bookended by the towns of Forest Grove and Hillsboro, just west of Portland, Cornelius continues to thrive as a farming community and welcomes visitors to enjoy a rich history of agriculture. Go berry picking or take a hike in the neighboring Chehalem Mountains, then sip Tualatin Valley wines from the local vineyards.

Árdíri Winery and Vineyards, located in the heart of the beautiful Chehalem Mountains AVA, specializes in Willamette Valley and Napa Valley Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The winery sits on a beautiful East-facing slope with a view of Mt. Hood and the intervening hills. Árdíri is dog and bicycle-friendly.

Voted one of Oregon’s top 10 wineries with panoramic views, Ardiri’s 40-acre site is open year-round, serving some of Oregon’s top 50 award-winning, affordable Pinot noirs and blends. Unique meter by meter Burgundian vineyards generate a limited harvest of gravity-fed estate wines produced and bottled on site.

The open-air facility with an adjoining patio, fireplace, three fire pits, and a poured black cement tasting bar can be rented for private events, business meetings, or rehearsal dinners. The outdoor area can be heated during the colder months. It is a “destination” winery where guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy a glass of wine.
