Bicentennial Park is a four-acre public park that originally opened in the nation’s bicentennial year, 1976, with the assistance of the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission. The park features one soccer field, a playground, a picnic shelter, and many benches along the paved pathway. Bicentennial park also has restrooms, a drinking fountain, and is open daily from dawn to dusk.

The South Store Cafe is a delightful rural cafe located in Tualatin Valley’s wine country. Housed in an over 100-year-old clapboard building, this historic landmark is a favorite of the locals and commuters alike. In addition to their full coffee bar, the South Store Cafe offers an array of pastries, sandwiches, homemade soups, small breakfasts, and lunches—all made fresh at the cafe.

Flowers by Burkhardts (formerly Burkhardts European Flower Shoppe) is a local florist located in Hillsboro. Open daily; hours vary.

Helvetia Winery provides a country winery experience just ten minutes from high-tech Hillsboro in the historic Helvetia area of Washington County. Helvetia produces a variety of wines, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.

Helvetia Winery offers a “Vineyard & Winery Tour,” Guests will learn about the soils, the history of the Helvetia community, how the wine is made, and visit the winery. Tour concludes with a private wine and smoked salmon tasting. Tours are available Thursday-Sunday by appointment only.

Helvetia Winery is a wonderful place for a simple country wedding amidst cedars and firs. There is a beautiful area outside for weddings complete with a wedding arch, and the 101-year-old Farmhouse can hold ten to 20 people for intimate dinners.

Reservations are required on weekends; recommended on weekdays.

Sara’s Blueberries offers five varieties of U-pick and ready-picked blueberries. Bring the kids and enjoy the shady picnic area or a visit with the farm animals.
