Not only does Apolloni Vineyards produce an amazing line up of white wines, including Pinot Blanc and Viognier, they also produce a stellar selection of (mostly) Italian reds. Blizzard Wines has made a name for itself with its bold red wines, such as the popular varietal Carménère, made from grapes grown in Eastern Washington (because the Willamette Valley is too cool to grow “big red” wines). Another rarity in the Tualatin Valley, Blizzard also produces a Dessert Syrah.

Oak Knoll Winery started out nearly 50 years ago making berry wines. Today, the winery makes many different varietals of wines, including several red wines that are rarely found in the Willamette Valley wine region. One wine that makes Oak Knoll really stand out is its red blend “Deviant,” a sweet red wine.

Rallison Cellars also offers an impressive selection of red wines. Here you will find many wines that are not commonly found in the region, such as Petite Sirah and Grenache, which is becoming more popular in the United States, as well as the big, bold taste of Zinfandel.
