I Body Love (Map It) is a sensory experience. All of Ke’ona’s products are sustainable and handmade–using only non-toxic, plant-based ingredients–from her body potions to the soy-wax candles. All her products are customizable, and you can pick your scents. Best of all, everything can be refilled.
I Body Love is a place where you can come in and create your own candles,” she says. “It’s more like a fragrance experience. You can pick out your own fragrance around the wall and create your candles that way. Bring in your own candle jars and refill your body wash, shampoo, conditioner.”
She started her line of body products because of her two daughters who have very sensitive skin.
“We started off making bath products because my girls wanted to buy bath bombs at the stores,” Ke’ona explains. “I read the ingredients on them. They’re not good for your skin. You can’t soak in them. So we basically just start making our own products at home, starting with bath bombs.”
She created I Body Love in 2017 and started selling her products at local farmers markets, including the Hillsboro Farmers Market. Because her business model includes refillable products, it became a burden to take the refill containers from market to market, so when a space opened in downtown Hillsboro, she jumped on it.
“We have our client base here,” she said. “We live here. We work here. We play here.”
I Body Love also offers hands-on experiences with the candle making classes, which walks you through the experience of how to blend fragrances and how to put the candles together to create a custom, unique candle. “You’re creating something that’s unique to you. No one else is going to create the scent that you’ve created, ” she offers.
The candles are made with sustainable, Oregon-grown soy wax. Ke’ona also sources Oregon-made coconut oil and hemp seed oil for her products.
