John Barleycorn’s, inspired by an old pump station in Hawaii, is a lofty building with indoor and outdoor seating excellent for a handcrafted pint, a round of burgers and more. The brewery and brewpub opened in Tigard in 1996, and was the first brewpub that McMenamins built from the ground up. Original construction included the brewery’s fishbowl design—where brewing is not just visible from the public dining area but is completely unobstructed by any barriers. JBC’s brewers are perennial contenders for top awards at the Barley Cup Brewfest held every year at Thompson’s Public House & Brewery in Salem.
Open daily for limited indoor dining, outdoor dining and takeout.
