Earth Day Events in Tualatin Valley

With Earth Day on April 22, we hope you’ve been brainstorming how to give your home planet some extra love. This month, several Earth Day events and activities are planned, and may inspire new ways to bring green into your every day. 

Earth Month Celebration | April (all month)
Amaterra Winery and Restaurant | 8150 SW Swede Hill Drive | Portland
For the love of the earth, Amaterra is celebrating Earth Month with a “Dollar a Duo” tasting, benefitting the Treekeepers of Washington County nonprofit. Treekeepers works to protect and advocate for trees in urban Washington County.

Early Earth Day Celebration | April 18 | 2-5 p.m.
Sonrise Community Garden | 6701 NE Campus Way | Hillsboro
Dig in dirt, learn about worms and build your own planter out of recycled materials to take home at this free event.

SATURDAY, APRIL 20

Earth Day Restoration Project | April 20 | 9 a.m.
Rood Bridge Park | 4000 SE Rood Bridge Road | Hillsboro
Join in on a restoration project this Earth Day to remove invasives including ivy, holly and some blackberry throughout the natural areas at Rood Bridge Park. This event is free and registration is recommended.

Fir Grove Ivy Pull | April 20 | 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Fir Grove Park | 6501 SW 130th Ave. | Beaverton
Join Tualatin Hills Parks and Rec in helping remove invasive English Ivy at Fir Grove Park. Invasive ivy can crawl up trees and shrubs making it difficult for them to receive adequate sunlight and water. Removing ivy helps native plant species thrive. This will be an all-ages event but THPRD requires volunteers under 13 to be accompanied by an attentive adult. Pre-registration is required.

2024 Sherwood Trashapalooza Earth Day Celebration | April 20 |  10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cannery Square | Old Town Sherwood
Celebrate Earth Day with SOLVE and the City of Sherwood.  Oregon Spring Cleanup  (Trashpalooza! Sherwood) features a clean-up and fun events, such as contests (strangest piece of trash, largest piece of trash, etc), prizes and a raffle.

Earth Day Crafts | April 20 | 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve | 2600 SW Hillsboro Hwy. | Hillsboro
Create awesome crafts out of re-use materials and make your very own recycled craft to take home. Supplies limited, available on a first come first served basis. This event is free.

SUNDAY, APRIL 21

BinaryBrewing.com Presents Pick Up for a Pint | April 21 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Binary Brewing | 12345 Southwest Broadway Street | Beaverton
Binary Brewing is hosting a community clean up in downtown Beaverton. After the clean-up, participants can celebrate with a free pint.

SATURDAY, APRIL 27

Earth and Arbor Day Celebration | April 27 | 9-11 a.m.
Bonita Park | SW Milton Court at SW Bonita Ave. | Tigard
Join in a special Earth and Arbor Day celebration that highlights the crucial role parks and recreation, public works and other community organizations have in creating a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. This free family-friendly event will offer a variety of engaging and educational activities for all ages.
