Cozy-up to live theater performances

Tualatin Valley’s fall theater season will delight with a lineup of compelling dramas, lively musicals and thought-provoking productions.

The Amazing Seance Sisters | September 7-22 | H.A.R.T Theatre | Hillsboro

“The ‘Amazing’ Séance Sisters,” set during the Civil War, follows the story of two sisters in their late 20s. After their post-mortem photography business fails, they turn to seances to make ends meet. As their situation becomes more complex, buried secrets become unearthed, threatening to tear the sisters apart. Shows are Thursday-Sunday; tickets start at $20.

Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors | September 13-29 | Theatre in the Grove | Forest Grove

“Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors” is a new comedy you’ll absolutely want to sink your teeth into. Packed with pun-tastic wordplay and pop culture references, this 90-minute whirlwind is a gender-bending, quick-changing, laugh-out-loud reimagining of the gothic classic. Shows are Friday-Sunday; tickets start at $20.

Always…Patsy Cline | September 20-October 13 | Broadway Rose Theatre Company | Tigard

All performances are now sold out! Please call the box office at 503.620.5262 to check on cancellations and single seat availability.  “Always…Patsy Cline” is a heartfelt revue from Tualatin Valley’s only professional music theatre company. The show–featuring a wealth of Cline’s beloved hits–tells the true story of the country music legend’s unlikely friendship with a fan, cemented by years of letter writing.

The Rocky Horror Show | October 11-20 | STAR Society | Sherwood

“The Rocky Horror Show” follows a newly engaged couple who get caught in a storm and end up at the home of a mad scientist, and a houseful of wild characters. Watch as the doctor unveils his latest creation, a Frankenstein-style muscle man, and madness and mayhem ensue. Shows are Friday-Sunday; tickets start at $20.

Is You Is | October 19-27 | Broadway Rose Theatre Co. & Bag&Baggage Productions | Tigard

The first collaboration between Tualatin Valley’s two resident professional theatre companies, “Is You Is” is a musical that follows two sets of characters whose stories connect through their relationship to a famous exhibit that shaped how race was understood by millions of people. The show runs October 19-27; tickets start at $15.

As the curtain rises on these fall productions, the stage is set for an unforgettable journey through the magic of theater, where every performance promises to leave audiences spellbound and inspired.
