Enjoy the Luck O’ the Irish

Whether you’re Irish or not, it’s hard not to partake in the festivities at St. Patrick’s celebrations around the region. From a mud run to Irish dance, these are the festive activities scheduled this year. Sláinte!

Weekend-long Events

McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove hosts its annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, all weekend long. It’s all about the luck o’ the Irish with live music all day long, food and beverage specials, and the keg is flowing with McMenamins’ Irish Stout. The event is free and open for all ages.

The annual St. Patrick’s weekend celebration will be held at both Tualatin Valley locations of Thirsty Lion Gastropub. Through March 17, the pub will have Irish dancers, bagpipers in full regalia, themed decor and giveaways, beer tastings with The Guiness Girls, plus specialty menu items and hand-crafted cocktails.

Saturday-only Events

The Dirty Leprechaun 5k and 10k Mud Run is at the Plumper Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, March 16. Race on muddy terrain while overcoming over 20 obstacles. All skill levels are welcome! This lively event also features a DJ, pancake breakfast, s’mores and drinks. New this year is “The Combine,” a test of speed, strength and endurance, and a mimosa bar.

On Saturday, March 16, DAnu Tasting Room & Wine Bar is hosting its 2nd annual Shamrock Fest and Fest, featuring an Irish music jam session, bingo, 5K fun run, dance lessons, music by Crimson and Clover Celtic Trio, and more.

The Saint Patrick’s Bar Crawl on Saturday, March 16, in Forest Grove features more than 11 participating businesses offering fun drinks and bar specials. Visit each location and earn a stamp. Complete your card and be entered to win a basket of gift cards to each participating location.

Dauntless Wine Co. is hosting a St. Patrick’s celebration on March 16 with music, food and drink specials. In addition to being a spot on the Saint Patrick’s Bar Crawl, Oregon native, Steve Hale will be performing live at 6 p.m.

Sunday-only Events

Murrayhill Taphouse is celebrating St. Patricks’ Day, Sunday, March 17, with live music from Celtic Clannad, who will be playing a mix of well-known Irish songs and Irish folk songs.
