“We’re into very whimsical fashions…inspired by nature out here in the Pacific Northwest, but also inspired by storybooks and a little weird and fun and different,” says owner Hazzel Svyengar.
Svyengar’s love of vintage style began early. “I was always a little bit weird when it comes to fashion. But I think that it really paid off with how we have a really unique style here,” she says, recalling her days of hunting for standout pieces in thrift shops.
That sense of individuality pairs with a deep commitment to sustainability. “I went to school for fashion design, thinking that I was really into the making side. But through that, I learned a lot about the industry and how unsustainable and unethical it is in a lot of different ways.”

Forager Vintage reflects that ethos through its selection of upcycled and secondhand goods, as well as items crafted by local artists. “We also work with a lot of really cool local artists and makers. So we have a mix of vintage and new accessories and art as well,” Svyengar says. The store features everything from handmade jewelry to pins and keychains, all at accessible prices.
Since opening, Forager has drawn visitors from across the region and beyond, including travelers from Portland, Seattle, Germany and Australia. Its location, in the heart of Beaverton’s thriving food scene, makes it an easy stop for those exploring the area.
“If you’re exploring Tualatin Valley for the first time, I highly recommend checking out our food scene,” Svyengar suggests. “Even here in our little neighborhood, (with)in walking distance, there are dozens of restaurants that are all really good at their cuisine. Like everyone’s an expert at what they do, and a lot of local gems.”
