Red Wine Hot Chocolate

You love red wine. You love hot chocolate. Guess what? You don’t have to choose between the two. Enter, red wine hot chocolate. While perusing Pinterest and our arsenal of food blogs over the past few months, we have kept coming across a recipe for this decadent winter drink. We decided it was high time that we try it for ourselves, of course using Tualatin Valley ingredients.

Red Wine Hot Chocolate

Inspired by the New York Times

Prepare hot chocolate mix from Moonstruck Chocolate Co. per directions.

Remove hot chocolate from whatever heat source you are using and add about 2 ounces of red wine per individual serving (lucky for us we had some fantastic Fullerton Wines Pinot Noir on hand).

Our verdict? Red wine hot chocolate is simple to make, delicious to drink and overall a winter warming wonder. Try it with a wine from Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Region of the Year (hey, that’s us!). This might be our favorite way to use up the last cup-or-so of wine left in the bottle.
