Is yoga part of your weekly routine? You don’t have to forgo your practice while on vacation or out of town on business. Make a yoga session part of your Tualatin Valley experience, especially since our studios and nature reserves provide a soothing backdrop for your next yoga retreat.
From our experience, there seems to be a lot of overlap in yoga lovers and wine lovers. Oenophile yogis can indulge their passion for yoga at Raptor Ridge Winery’s all-levels yoga classes, Tuesdays from 6-7:15 p.m. (Dates are subject to change; check the winery’s website for dates.) NOTE: The classes do not include wine.
Goat yoga is all the craze in Oregon, but here in Tualatin Valley, we have PUPPY yoga! Yep, you read that right. Puppies have a very “Zen” quality, leaving yogis more relaxed and happy after a session at PuppYoga. Each session is taught by a qualified instructor, who specializes in Vinyasa-style yoga.
If you prefer to practice your yoga al fresco, then roll out your mat at Fernhill Wetlands’ Dabbler’s Marsh trail. The wetlands’ water garden attracts is one of the many spots where birds congregate, making it the perfect location for your own bird of paradise pose.
Orenco Station is perhaps Hillsboro’s healthiest neighborhood with its pedestrian-friendly layout, healthy eats, a locally-focused grocery store and (of course!) a yoga studio. The light blue and pink walls of Ether & Stone have a calming effect that will get you through the toughest power vinyasa class or will inspire you in a restorative yoga class.
