First-Time Events

Several new events are happening in Tualatin Valley this summer. We are super excited to check them out and hope these will become annual events in the future.

La Strada dei Pastelli Chalk Art Festival | August 10-11 | Free
Fifteen nationally recognized chalk artists will descend on Cedar Hills Crossing in Beaverton for a competition to create large-scale chalk works of art in 48 hours. Onlookers can vote in the People’s Choice Ballot and prizes will be awarded at the end of the festival. The weekend also will feature local art vendors showcasing their works, live performances, and hands-on activities, including creating your own chalk art masterpieces.


C’est Rosé Wine Festival | June 22, 3-7 p.m. | $30
McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in Hillsboro holds its first festival of rosé tasting, featuring more than 20 rosé wines from Oregon winemakers paired with hors d’oeuvres.

Beaverton Pride Parade | June 23, 11 a.m. | Free
Pride 2019 event in Beaverton in Oregon's Tualatin ValleyThe city of Beaverton’s first-ever Pride Parade hits the streets Sunday, June 23rd. Featuring eight-time Paralympian Allison Jones as Grand Marshal, and local favorite, The Unipiper, the parade takes place just five days before the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn uprising in New York, which is credited as the start of the modern LGBTQ+ civil rights movement. The parade is followed by the 2nd annual Pride in the Park.

Westside Shakespeare Festival | June 28-30 | Free
The inaugural Westside Shakespeare Festival is an all-ages, three-day immersive celebration in Beaverton featuring a collaboration of local theater groups, nonprofits, and art educators that will immerse attendees in all things Shakespeare. The festival is free (donations accepted).
