Hippie Chick Quarter and Half Marathon (May 13)
The Hippie Chick Quarter & Half Marathon returns Mother’s Day weekend. This run is an all-women’s event that is designed to celebrate women. The course is filled with “flat, tree-lined streets with amazing scenic views,” and along plenty of rolling country roads just outside Hillsboro in the middle miles of the race. After the race, there’s a free mimosa for every finisher and a pancake breakfast at the finish line festival.
10K Rum Run (May 20)
The 10K Rum Run is the coolest race of the year, and in 2017, the race will take to the streets of Beaverton. This 5k and 10k race starts and finishes at Big Al’s in Beaverton. Caribbean music, tropical decor and a tiki torch-lined finish will bring out that island spirit and get you ready for summer. Kids will enjoy the “Tiki” Run.
7th Annual Banks Linear Trail Brave Run (May 20)
The annual Banks Linear Trail Brave Run is a 5K/10K run/walk and kids dash along the Banks-Vernonia State Trail, a car-free linear trail with spectacular forested views.
Rose Festival Half Marathon (May 28)
The 6th Annual Rose Festival Half Marathon is charting new territory for Greater Portland racers as this year’s event will take place in the city of Beaverton. The race will begin at Southridge High School in Beaverton, Oregon. The route — still in final development — will take runners to familiar Beaverton arteries (and through a popular wetlands park) as they dash along a unique mix of modern urban landscaping and ancient natural areas.
