Meet Tualatin Valley
Located in the northern Willamette Valley, Oregon’s Tualatin Valley is scenically situated between downtown Portland and the Oregon Coast, and has 12 incorporated cities and towns, including the cities of Beaverton, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Tigard and Sherwood. This is a thriving destination where urban and rural cities and towns intersect, creating a distinctive destination with a diverse selection of attractions and amenities for leisure and group travelers.
With a population nearing 600,000, Tualatin Valley is the most culturally diverse destination in the state, and offers a host of celebrated attractions and amenities: wineries and breweries, nature parks and preserves, unparalleled cycling routes, golf courses, produce farms, exquisite hotels and more.

Oregon’s Willamette Valley is known for its exquisite Pinot Noir. Tualatin Valley, located in the northern part of this esteemed wine growing region, is home to more than 30 wineries. In 2020, two new American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) were established in Tualatin Valley: Tualatin Hills and Laurelwood District.
Tualatin Valley also has the world’s first American owned-and-operated, large-production saké brewery, SakéOne, as well as as host of craft breweries and distilleries.
Outdoor Recreation
The Tualatin Valley excels as an outdoor adventure destination, complete with activities ranging from cycling and golf to zip-lining. Protected wetlands and nature parks are popular birding and wildlife watching sites, while water recreation spots and paddling sites offer a serene experience along the Tualatin Valley’s calm waterways. Tualatin Valley’s miles and miles of cycling routes–paved, road and gravel roads–provide a mix of opportunities from beginning cyclists to the advanced.

Nestled between the hustling city of Portland and ocean waves of the Oregon Coast, Tualatin Valley is a destination with an abundance of wide open spaces, where there are plenty of opportunities to take in the picturesque sites of the region. From agricultural landscapes to forested views, the region’s designated scenic routes–Vineyard & Valley Scenic Tour Route, Quilt Barn Trail, Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway and Trees to Sea Scenic Byway–showcase the beauty of the region, as well as tells the story of this important farm and forestry region.

Tualatin Valley’s u-pick farms provide visitors hands-on experience at dozens of “u- pick” farms and local farmers’ markets surprise and delight with crops ranging from berries and fruits to flowers. When it comes to art and culture, Tualatin Valley is home to three premier professional theatre companies, as well as one of the most acclaimed museums in the Pacific Northwest, the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals.
