National Travel & Tourism Week

The Stories That Move Tualatin Valley Forward

Author: Explore Tualatin Valley

Date: April 29, 2026

For National Travel & Tourism Week, Explore Tualatin Valley is celebrating those stories that show how travel supports local businesses, fuels opportunity and shapes a stronger, more connected community.

In Tualatin Valley, that impact is best told through the people who make this destination memorable: the hotel teams who welcome guests, the winemakers who share the story of our land, the craft brewers who create gathering places, and the sports and event partners who bring energy, connection and new audiences to our region.

Tourism here is more than a number, though it matters. Visitor spending brings approximately $723.2 million into Washington County and helps diversify the local economy. But behind that impact are real businesses, real jobs, real experiences and real stories.

Throughout National Travel & Tourism Week, we are highlighting partner voices from across Tualatin Valley (including the Hillsboro Hops, local hotels, wineries and craft breweries) to show how tourism supports the people and places that give our region its character.

At Explore Tualatin Valley, our role is to connect travelers with exceptional experiences, increase overnight visitation and champion the partners who make this destination worth discovering. We view that work as a team effort and this week, we are proud to share the stories of the team behind the destination.
