Tips for Traveling with Your Dog in Tualatin Valley
While Oregon is known for its pet-friendly policies, there are some rules that visitors and residents alike must be know before heading out with their pets.
- For the safety of wildlife, dogs (and other pets and horses) are not allowed at any of the Tualatin Valley’s nature parks or wildlife preserves and refuges. Dogs are allowed at most state, county and community parks.
- Dogs are not allowed at farmers markets.
- While dogs are not allowed inside coffeehouses or restaurants, locations with outdoor patio seating may allow dogs.
- Please check individual pet policies before visiting wineries; some may allow dogs, others do not.
- Tualatin Valley (Washington County) has a leash law, and all dogs must be on leash (7-foot long or less) unless in an specifically-designated off-leash area.
Service dogs are allowed in most of these places.
