One-Day Itinerary

We’ve said goodbye to summer and welcomed the crisp air of autumn to Oregon’s Tualatin Valley. While this season may be a bit chillier and a bit rainier, we still love to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Start your perfect Hillsboro fall day with a warm drink from one of Tualatin Valley’s favorite coffee shops, Insomnia Coffee. Find the flagship shop on 3rd and Main in adorable downtown Hillsboro alongside vintage malls, fun specialty shops and more. Or take your sweet tooth to Decadent Creations in downtown Hillsboro for a caramel apple chai and pumpkin flavored pastry.

After breakfast, head north into the scenic farm country. Drive along the Vineyard and Valley Scenic Tour Route to see autumn colors in all their glory. You could really devote an entire day to exploring the route on a mini road trip, but it’ll also take you to fun fall-centric spots along the way.

Roloff Farm, which you may know from TLC’s popular show, “Little People, Big World,” is a perfect spot for fall activities. The farm’s Pumpkin Festival offers a scenic trail walk, wagon tours and much more. Pick up souvenirs at the country store and pick your pumpkin along the way.

If a real meal is in order, head back along scenic roads of Helvetia to Helvetia Tavern. The tavern has been around since 1946 and is one of the most popular destinations to view Oregon landmarks, plus their burgers have been voted one of the best in Oregon for years. Enjoy their famous burgers and onion rings on the spacious patio.

No matter where you visit or what you do, you’re sure to see changing leaves, scenic landscapes and something tasty to eat while you’re out enjoying a fall day in Oregon’s Tualatin Valley.
