The West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta is one of the most unique fall Festivals in Oregon. Since 2004 people from around the country gather to witness costumed characters paddling inside giant pumpkins in a series of races. This fun filled weekend includes Pumpkins and Pints, a giant pumpkin weigh-off, Regatta Run, and Regatta festival and pumpkin races. The giant pumpkins are supplied by friends from the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers.
Schedule:
- 9 a.m. Regatta Run begins at Tualatin Community Park
- 10 a.m. West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta Open
- 11 a.m. Mz Pearl Variety Show
- 12 p.m. PUMPKIN RACES 1 & 2 (Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers and Pumpkin Regatta sponsors)
- 1 p.m. Mz Pearl Variety Show
- 2 p.m. PUMPKIN RACES 3, 4, & 5 (Tualatin Police, TVF&R and Pumpkin Quest paddlers)
- 3 p.m. Kids’ costume contest (Sign up at the Information tent starting at 10 a.m.)
- Space is limited to 25 per age group.
- Age group categories: 3 and under, 4-5, 6-8, 9-11
Other activities of the festival include Pumpkin Bowling, Pumpkin Golf, Pumpkin Checkers, Pumpkin Decorating, Face Painting, Craft Tent and Professional Pumpkin Carvers.
