Oktoberfest is a traditional yearly celebration that typically takes place in Munich, Germany. The festival dates back to October 1810, when it was originally held to commemorate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria (later King Ludwig) and Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

Celebrate Oktoberfest at OrenKoFest, Hillsboro’s free family harvest festival. This Bavarian-inspired event features German music, German food, artisan vendor booths, beer garden and live music. The highlight of the event is the traditional “Masskrugstemmen” beer stein holding contest.
