Apolloni Vineyards Turns 25!

Happy anniversary to Apolloni Vineyards, which turns 25 in September 2024 ! Alfredo and Laurine Apolloni purchased the vineyards in 1999, and in the past 25 years, their initial five-acre vineyard grew to 40 acres! Three of the vineyards were planted the years their three children were born and named after them.

Top Burmese Earns Spot in FSR Magazine’s America’s Top 50 Independent Restaurants for 2024

FSR magazine, a publication that serves the full-service restaurant industry in the United States, recently named Top Burmese as one of the “Top 50 Independent Restaurants for 2024.” The list consists of independently-owned instituations that exhibit exceptional culinary prowess, community building, and delivers exceptional dining experiences.

Top Burmese has four locations in the Portland Region, including two in Tualatin Valley.

Bridge Land and Sky

Hillsboro’s “Bridge of Land of Sky” Earns International CODAaward

As the artistic gateway to Hillsboro, the Bridge of Land & Sky, designed by local artist Cliff Garten, was recognized as one of the Top 100 projects of 2024 by CODAawards. The functional steel art piece, which also serves as a safety feature along the bridge that is used by cars and pedestrians, was inspired by the topography of the Tualatin Hills, and spans the length of the Brookwood overpass over Highway 26.

The CODAawards, short for Collabotation of Design & Art, honor projects around the globe that seamlessly incorporate commissioned art pieces into architectural, interior or public spaces.

Two Tualatin Valley Cities Make Livability’s List of Top 25 Best Places to Live

This year, Livability recently named Beaverton (#2) and Hillsboro (#4) to their list of Top 25 Best Places to Live out West. Beaverton was recognized for its environment, sustainability efforts, cost of living, housing options and mix of large and small businesses. Hillsboro was recognized for its efforts to protect the environment, transportation and its high-tech industry.

The list is based on Livability’s research, which includes about 100 data points measuring eight broad categories, including economy, housing/cost of living, amenities (such as cultural and leisure amenities), transportation, environment, safety, and more.
