Highlights from the 2025 Destinations International Annual Convention
The Explore Tualatin Valley team recently joined destination professionals from around the world in Chicago for the 2025 Destinations International Annual Convention, a high-energy gathering of thought leaders, change-makers, and tourism innovators.
Representing ETV, Dave Parulo, Claire Fisher, and Nicole Bradin participated in sessions focused on the evolving role of destination organizations, data-driven marketing, inclusive storytelling, and community-centered planning. They were joined by fellow Oregon DMOs to elevate regional voices and share successes from across the state.
With representatives from more than 30 countries, this year’s convention offered a truly global exchange of ideas that are shaping the future of the visitor economy.
As part of the program, Nicole Bradin contributed to a panel on navigating crisis, offering tools and perspectives on how DMOs can respond with transparency and a community focus during uncertain times.
The convention also served as the stage for a proud moment: Explore Tualatin Valley officially earned DMAP accreditation, a recognition of excellence in governance, sales, communications, and destination development. Dave Parulo accepted the accreditation on behalf of the organization during the annual ceremony.
We’re already looking ahead to 2026, when the Destinations International Annual Convention comes to Portland, Oregon. We can’t wait to help showcase and welcome the world to our region.

Meet Lise Bueschen Monahan of Fraga Farm
Elizabeth “Lise” Bueschen Monahan and her husband Steven both grew up on farms. “I always knew I wanted to be back on a farm and 15 years ago, we moved to Oregon and looking for a place to do some farming when we found this farm,” she recalls. That farm is Fraga Farmstead Creamery, Oregon’s only certified organic goat dairy.
