New Public Art Coming to Hillsboro’s Shute Park

“Cloud Nest,” a new public art installation by artist Becky Borlan, will be located near the playground at Shute Park in Hillsboro. Cloud Nest, which is reminiscent of the “monkey bars” that were common play structures in the ’70s and ’80s, is based on principles of geodesic dome buildings and will be a steel structure adorned with colorful, translucent laser-cut panels. The panels will be cut with various geometric and organic motifs, a reference to the Mexican art of papel picado.
