Explore Tualatin Valley Announces New Strategic Investment Program

Funding will benefit tourism-facing businesses in Washington County, Ore.

BEAVERTON, Ore. (June 4, 2024) – ExploreTualatin Valley (ETV), the destination marketing organization that markets Washington County, Ore., announced today the launch of its new strategic investment program, titled the “Foundation Award.”

This competitive award will award eligible organizations up to $20,000 for tourism-related projects that may include small capital projects, marketing collateral and promotional materials. ETV plans to grant up to $100,000 per fiscal year for eligible projects.   

Strategic Investment Eligibility

Organizations that have an inspirational project that will collaboratively propel ETV forward in its efforts to promote the destination to visitors and enhance the quality of life of Washington County residents are encouraged to apply.

Eligible organizations must be based in Washington County, Ore, and include:

  • Non-profit 501(c) organizations 
  • Confederated tribes 
  • Government agencies and organizations 

Priority will be given to non-profit 501(c) organizations.

Eligible projects must be visitor-facing, with a priority given to projects that:

  • Generate overnight stays in Washington County’s lodging properties and other paid accommodations
  • Serve unmet visitor needs
  • Create, inspire, and/or improve a tourism-facing business activity 
  • Support off-season and lower-demand visitation periods
  • Foster sustainability and accessibility
  • Enhance diversity, equity and inclusion

Tualatin Valley Inspiration Event Award

The new Foundation Award is part of ETV’s newly established Strategic Investment Program, which also includes the “Tualatin Valley Inspiration Event Award,” a competitive award that provides paid sponsorships or support of up to $5,000 for event and marketing sponsorships. A total of $25,000 will be awarded each application cycle. 

The first application cycle closed May 31. Upcoming application deadlines for the Tualatin Valley Inspiration Event Awards are August 31, 2024 and February 28, 2025.

Eligible Events

Eligible events must be open to the public and the event located in Washington County, Ore. Organizers of the event must be a non-profit 501(c) organization partner or confederated tribes who are rooted in and connected to Tualatin Valley, or a government entity located in Washington County.

Priority may be given to organizations with inspirational events that will further propel ETV’s mission and vision, as outlined in its Strategic Plan, which was released in April.
