CELEBRATE OREGON WINE MONTH

Explore Tualatin Valley’s Events and Festivities All Month Long

We love our winemakers and their unique wines all year in Oregon, but we celebrate them especially in May, Oregon Wine Month. Tualatin Valley–the closest wine country to Portland–is known for its diversity of wine varieties that keep wine lovers coming back. Pinot Noir may have put the region and the state on the wine map, but there’s so much more here.

ABOUT TUALATIN VALLEY WINE COUNTRY

Along with Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, Tualatin Valley winemakers are producing a diverse array of wines, such as Tempranillo, Gamay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, and the seasonal Rosé. This region is able to produce such a wide variety of wines thanks to its geography and climate. Tualatin Valley’s  wineries are in the Willamette Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA), and is home to two nested AVAs: Laurelwood District and Tualatin Hills. These two nested AVAs are notable for their Laurelwood soils, which differentiates the vineyards in this area from the different soil types found in other parts of the Willamette Valley.

TUALATIN VALLEY CELEBRATES OREGON WINE MONTH

In celebration of Oregon Wine Month, there is a host of events happening all month long.  From May 10-19, explore Spring Sips, a weeklong celebration of Tualatin Valley wine. The week features  “Flight Week,” the popular Pink! Rosé Festival, Sunday, May 19, and a host of winery events.

In addition to Spring Sips, Tualatin Valley’s cities also are celebrating Oregon Wine Month with a trio Main Street Wine Walks, showcasing their walkable downtowns, complete with wine and music.
