Oregon’s Tualatin Valley is one of the best places to spend your days shopping for friends and family. Not only does the area boast a diverse selection of shops–from artisan shops to big-box stores–there is no sales tax on anything. So, bring your list and shop away!

Shopping Centers

Do most, if not all, of your holiday shopping in one place at these shopping centers.

Washington Square has more than 170 shops, holiday pop-up shops, Amazon Books, Nespresso, Nordstrom and more. Santa will be arriving for contactless photo ops with the kiddos. Bridgeport Village is an outdoor lifestyle center with a blend of upscale national and local retailers and restaurants, and is the exclusive Oregon location for several well-known shops, such as Saks Off-Fifth, Crate & Barrel, and more. Pets are welcome at Bridgeport Village during the holiday season. 

The Streets of Tanasbourne offers open-air Main Street charm combined with convenience and more than 38 shops and restaurants, including REI, H&M and Macy’s.

Cedar Hills Crossing shopping center offers and array of dining and shopping options and has added new stores, such as Tuesday Morning and the only Oregon location of Buy Buy Baby. The center also features Best Buy, Old Navy and Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing, a slightly smaller version of Portland’s famous Powell’s City of Books. This independent bookstore offers a large selection of new and used books, as well as fun gift items. Hours may vary from store to store.

These shopping centers are open on Black Friday but during Oregon’s 2-week freeze, retail businesses are limited to 75 percent capacity.

Shop Local

Participate in Explore Downtown Tigard’s Bingo starting November 28th through December 26th, where you can shop and eat local at Tigard’s business to complete your bingo card for a chance to win a $100 VISA gift card.

The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce has created a holiday gift guide showcasing local businesses and their holiday shopping promotions. In addition to the guide, Hillsboro’s Downtown Partnership is offering an e-gift card for use at participating Downtown Hillsboro shops and restaurants like Bennett Urban Farm Store, D’Anu Wines, Insomnia Coffee Co. and White Birch Design Co. Purchase the gift card online for any dollar amount and then easily send to family and friends through email or text message.

Specialty Shops

Shop for holiday décor and treats at Sleighbells Gift Shop. Surrounded by a Christmas tree farm, Sleighbells is a world-class gift shop, featuring a large variety of holiday décor, ranging from kitschy to high-end.

Did you know that the venerable tea company Stash Tea is an Oregon brand? Visit the Stash Tea Store in Tualatin Valley and choose from more than a 100 varieties of loose-leaf tea. Find the perfect gift for the tea lover on your list.

Lee Farms Country Store is the perfect place to shop to fill your house with holiday cheer. The store has a wide selection of holiday decorations, candles and handmade items. They also have local honey, jams, syrups and butter and you can even get homemade pies made with fresh fruit, donuts and pastries.

If you’re shopping for kids or kids at heart, head to Versus Board Games or Rainy Day Games to stock up on fun entertainment for the holidays and beyond. The shops have a wide range of board games, card games and puzzles for everyone. Or head to Piccolo Mondo Toys, with three locations in Tualatin Valley. The family owned toy shop has a variety of products from around the world and specializes in innovative toys that encourage creative play.

Get handmade gits, crafts and artwork from the Walters Virtual Artisan Marketplace. The virtual market features work from 32 crafters local to Tualatin Valley. You can browse the shop anytime of day from November 16 to December 31. Start shopping >>>

Make Your Own Gifts

Tualatin Valley has many places where you can make your own holiday gifts. Live Laugh Love Art and Lovejoy Workshop feature group and individual classes for artists to create their own masterpieces, including glass-blown ornaments, acrylic painting, wood painting and metal art. Painting studios, such as Escape and Paint offer classes to allow you to express your personal artistry.
