Travel along one of these designated scenic routes and get lost in Oregon’s Tualatin Valley.
Trees to Sea Scenic Byway
Established in 2018, the Trees to Sea Scenic Byway is one of Oregon’s newest state-designated scenic byways. This 68-mile (109-Kilometer) byway introduces travelers to Oregon’s year-round beauty. Trees to Sea connects Tualatin Valley to the Pacific Ocean. Drive from the trails of Tualatin Valley, through the grand Tillamook State Forest, and to the rugged coastline of the Oregon Coast. Here, travelers will find rushing rivers, peaceful forests and a few treasures in between.
Quilt Barn Trail of Tualatin Valley
The Quilt Barn Trail highlights Tualatin Valley’s agricultural and historical heritage and showcases public art pieces celebrating the art of quilting. The art is composed of large wood blocks that have been hand-painted in traditional quilt patterns that hold some significance to the area or farm where it is located. All 60 quilt panels have been installed at area farms and agriculture-related businesses. Each panel tell a visual the story of the property owners and their unique relationship to quilting.
Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway
Avid cyclists may find the perfect ride along the Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway, an Oregon-designated scenic bikeway. Intermediate and advanced riders love not only this scenic bike trail, but also the intriguing spots along the way. Pedal-happy visitors can spend a full day on the 50-mile bikeway, which also includes the extremely scenic rail-to-trail, car-free Banks-Vernonia State Trail.
Vineyard and Valley Scenic Tour Route
In Tualatin Valley, nature, agriculture, history and wine are undeniably intertwined. The Vineyard and Valley Scenic Tour Route, a designated Oregon tour route, showcases this special commingling of attractions along its 60-mile drive through the serene Oregon countryside. Best to be enjoyed during a full day of discoveries, the Vineyard and Valley Scenic Tour Route offers a day of lush rural adventures. Visitors are enticed to stop at the many wineries, nurseries, farms and—when in season—produce stands that freckle the route.
Tualatin River National Water Trail
Imagine paddling down 40 nautical miles of a peaceful, slow-moving river. Hear the sounds of birds greeting the passersby, while enjoying a cool trip through tree-lined waterways. Here in the Tualatin Valley, it’s not just your imagination; it’s a reality. In October 2020, the U.S. Interior Department designated the Tualatin River Water Trail as one of the newest routes in the National Trails System. This designation has been years in the making and joins the existing Willamette River Water Trail as Oregon’s only two nationally designated water trails.
