SPEND THANKSGIVING IN OREGON’S TUALATIN VALLEY

Thanksgiving Weekend Events

Thanksgiving weekend—whether you’re traveling to Tualatin Valley or hosting family and friends in the Portland region—can be a hard one to plan. Ideally, the holiday weekend is a perfect balance of festive activities and a chance to truly relax. Find that balance in the Tualatin Valley, where we promise you’ll find lots to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving Morning Turkey Trots

The early bird this year is not a turkey—it’s you! Enjoy a Thanksgiving invigorating morning run at these “turkey trots.”

Oregon Wine Tasting Saturday

For nearly four decades, wineries throughout the Willamette Valley–including Tualatin Valley–open their tasting rooms during the Thanksgiving Wine Weekend (November 24-26) to celebrate the completion of harvest. Kick off the holiday season at Tualatin Valley’s wineries for special tastings and festive celebrations. Wine lovers are invited to visit wineries for sips and nibbles. Snag a bottle or two at every stop—you’ll be stocked and ready for all of the holiday parties ahead!

Get Into the Holiday Spirit

The award-winning Broadway Rose Theater Company brings an original holiday show, “Home for the Holidays” (November 22-December 23). Passengers bussing home to Chicago for the holidays find themselves stuck in Iowa when a blizzard shuts down the highway. Forced to spend Christmas Eve at a deserted bus depot, they make the best of a bleak situation and get into the Yuletide spirit with stories and songs while they wait out the storm together. Packed with contemporary and classic holiday tunes, this lighthearted revue is the perfect festive pick-me-up for weary travelers, Christmas revelers, or anyone seeking a hefty dose of holiday cheer.

Local pianist Michael Allen Harrison brings his holiday show, “An Old Fashioned Christmas” (November 25) to the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts. Michael is joined by his friend and legendary singer, Julianne Johnson, and is accompanied by his band, and new up-and-coming young artists and children. Michael’s show is one of the most beloved traditions every holiday season

The Portland Singing Christmas Tree (November 25-December 3) is a long-standing tradition, and this year it returns to Tualatin Valley. Enjoy the 61st year of this ultimate Christmas celebration for the whole family. The 90-minute show features a stunning nativity scene, a fun-filled visit from Santa and his elves, and a dazzling display of music, dance and costumes that will fill everyone’s heart with holiday cheer and wonder.

Hillsboro’s second annual Snow Much Fun (November 25) at Jerry Willey Plaza at Orenco Station. This free, family-friendly winter wonderland will feature festive activities including winter crafts, holiday themed performances, and a snowfall at the top of every hour.
